About

About Destiny Chronicles Publications

Welcome to Destiny Chronicles Publications — a small independent press dedicated to stories born from the wide open sky and mountains to the creeks and granite heart of a special place called Destiny, Colorado.

We believe that landscape is more than a backdrop—it is a character. We curate and publish stories that emerge from the unique spirit of our town: a place where ancient waters have carved hidden pools into stone, where weathered trails whisper secrets older than the buildings, and where the formidable, high-altitude environment shapes the souls of those who call it home. Whether it’s fiction or creative non-fiction, our stories capture the friction, beauty, and resilience found when living in the shadow of the peaks.

Our Vision

We exist to provide a sanctuary for narratives that honor our unique corner of the world. By bridging the gap between the wild mountain landscape and the human heart, we strive to bring authentic, place-based stories to life.

About the Founder

Andrew Scott Schliep founded Destiny Chronicles Publications to translate the stories of the high country onto the page. Driven by a deep curiosity about the human experience within the vastness of nature and the layers of local history. His path to publishing has been anything but linear; he has navigated the complexities of being a Navy brat, high school, fast food, going to jail, drugs and alcohol, road construction, the long-haul focus of truck driving, and the precision required of two decades 24/7 on the railroad. Then recently, recovery and sobriety, being free from the influence of alcohol and drugs. The high-stakes awareness needed to manage both a jail shift (with the keys) and security on the floor of a casino. Each of these roles taught him that every environment—no matter how industrial or intense—has its own unique rhythm and narrative. Andrew works closely with the love of his life and best friend to ensure every project is crafted with care and purpose. To Andrew, every story is a trek—and we invite you to hike along with us.
