Those Old Footprints

Walkin along, barefoot in the Smokey Mountains,
Only alone in my head, the fog seems to stir and lift,
The sun coming up while the moon’s goin down…
This o’l world, it’s spinnin round and round…

Is it all in my mind? Why Lord why?
Why cant I leave it all behind?
Trouble find me, no matter where I hide,
Even though your here right by my side…

I need to stop, just sit still awhile.
Meditate, open up my heart and mind.
Close my eyes, relax just forget the grind.
Then in the morning mists it’s You I find…

This o’l world is spinning round and round
I need to stop, get off some how
Like my father before me, I am bound,
I just keep spinnin round and round…

A long long rough road it’s been,
Lessons learned then forgot again.
I will no longer run, afraid of my past
With your help, I am free at last…

It’s like those old footprints,
When we were once walking along the sea.
Thank you, Thank You Lord,
For once again You have carried me…
